Chemically, Papagoite is a calcium copper aluminium silicate hydroxide, found as a secondary mineral on slip surfaces and in altered granodiorite veins, either in massive form or as microscopic crystals that may form spherical aggregates.

Its chemical formula is CaCuAlSi2O6(OH)3. Papagoite forms crystalline coatings and aggregates of cerulean blue color. It often occurs as phantoms in Quartz and can sometimes be found together with Ajoite.

Papagoite has a Mohs Hardness scale of 5 to 5.5. It’s crystal system is Monoclinic.
